Krav Maga

It is definitely for you if…

…at least one of these is true for you.

01

You want self-defense that really works

Krav Maga is a modern self-defense system in which every area is logically built. You learn not only techniques but also tactics and prevention, and how to use the objects around you to defend yourself.

02

You want to gain confidence

As you learn to punch and kick correctly and pick up self-defense techniques that really work, you become more and more confident. That change shows in every area of your life.

03

You want to learn new skills

You get stronger, more skilful and more explosive, and your stamina improves. Along the way you pick up abilities you can use in every part of your daily life.

04

You want to be part of a good community

In our group classes you meet a lot of good people, make new friends and join a great, close-knit team. We also meet outside class: team events and training camps.

05

You do not want to get beaten up

Our classes are about learning and practising, not about beating each other. Nobody comes to us to hurt others or to get hurt. There is sparring at the end of class, but it is always voluntary.

06

You do not need the frills either

No forms to memorise, no technique names in a foreign language, no uniforms, no bowing. The focus is on practice and a good atmosphere.

Realistic self-defense for real-world situations

For everyone

Krav Maga techniques are designed so that anyone can apply them effectively, whatever their gender, age or build.

Easy to learn

You do not need 10 or 20 years to use it effectively. The techniques are simple movements built on instinctive, natural human reactions.

Prevention first

The most effective self-defense is avoiding the physical confrontation. Prevention and reading the situation are part of our classes.

Everyday objects

You learn how to use a pen, a bag, an umbrella or a bottle of water to defend yourself if you have to.

Armed attacks

We deal with the most common armed attacks: defending against knife, stick and gun threats and attacks.

Multiple attackers

A modern self-defense system cannot stop at one against one. You learn how to handle several attackers effectively.

Protecting others

You may have to protect the people who are with you. You learn how to defend your partner, your child or anyone who needs it.

Proven in real situations

Krav Maga is the basis of close-combat training for many military and law-enforcement units around the world.

What our students say

They have already tried it

Attila is an excellent instructor! The training is an hour and a half with strength exercises, stretching, technique exercises and fights. The training takes place 4 times a week each time with different people so there is always variety. As someone who has been training in Krav Maga for six years and has visited several Krav Maga clubs, this was one of the best. Hope to come to the training again! Everything was really fun!

Questions?

Frequently asked questions

If you cannot find the answer, just write to us.

Contact
Do I need to speak Hungarian?
No. The adult group classes are taught in Hungarian, but the instructor speaks English, and he or one of the students translates the instructions for you. We regularly have students who do not speak Hungarian. If you would rather have everything explained in English, private training is taught fully in English.
What should I expect in my first class?
A 90-minute practice session in a great atmosphere. Before class we have a short chat, and I ask whether you have any injury or physical problem we should look out for. The class starts with a warm-up together, then we practise punches, kicks and combinations. Most of the class is spent on self-defense situations, and we finish with a short stretch.
Is the first class really free?
Yes. Your first group class is on us, with no obligation at all. All we ask is that you sign up on the form in advance, so we know you are coming.
Can I come as a complete beginner?
Yes, most of our students started as complete beginners. You can join the group at any time, so you will always find a training partner you can work well with.
Is there an age limit?
The adult group is open from the age of 15, and there is no upper limit: teenagers and people in their fifties train together.
What should I bring?
Thin, comfortable shorts or trousers and a T-shirt that do not restrict your movement. You do not need trainers, we practise barefoot, but flip-flops are handy in the changing room. Bring a towel and still water. Later, if you decide to stay, you will need a few pieces of protective gear.
Can I just watch a class first?
Not everyone likes being watched by strangers while training, so classes cannot be observed. Instead you can take part in any group class once for free, which tells you much more about whether Krav Maga is for you.
Where are the classes and how do I get there?
On the 1st floor of the Barázda Center in the 11th district of Budapest (Barázda utca 42). There is free parking nearby, and tram 1 and bus 33 stop within a few minutes' walk. The Location page has the details, with photos.
